The film takes viewers on a journey of Bruce Wayne's transformation from a traumatized boy to the caped crusader. After witnessing his parents' murder in front of him as a child, Bruce (played by Christian Bale) travels the world seeking justice and understanding. Training with the League of Shadows, led by the enigmatic Ra's al Ghul (Liam Neeson), Bruce learns the art of combat and strategy. Upon his return to Gotham, driven by a desire to protect its citizens from the shadows, Bruce creates the alter ego of Batman.
