K-Pop, Korean dramas, and variety shows have gained immense popularity, with many young Indonesians idolizing K-Pop groups like BTS, Blackpink, and EXO. A survey by the Indonesian market research firm, Nielsen, found that 62% of Indonesian youth aged 15-24 listen to K-Pop music regularly (Nielsen, 2020). The Korean entertainment industry's highly produced content, fashionable clothing, and synchronized choreography have inspired Indonesian youth to emulate these trends. This phenomenon has led to the emergence of Indonesian K-Pop cover groups, fan art, and fan fiction, demonstrating the creative and enthusiastic engagement of young Indonesians with global pop culture.
