The movie Colombiana is based on the true story of the Cali Cartel, a notorious Colombian drug cartel that dominated the cocaine trade in the 1980s and 1990s. The film follows the story of Catalina "Cat" Mesa (played by Zoe Saldana), a young woman from a poor neighborhood in Colombia who is forced to flee her home after her family is killed by the cartel. Cat grows up to become a skilled assassin and seeks revenge against the cartel that destroyed her life.
