The story unfolds in a post-invasion scenario where aliens, referred to as "Scarecrows," have taken over the surface of the Earth. The remnants of humanity are forced to live in an underground colony, where resources are dwindling, and hope seems to be fading. The government, now a shadow of its former self, exercises strict control over the population. Danton (Josh Duhamel), a former police officer, emerges as a leader in this subterranean world. He must navigate through the complexities of resistance against the oppressive government and the looming threat of the alien invaders. Alongside him are his wife, Olivia (Sarah Roemer), and their young son, Charlie.
