The season focuses on Spartacus's journey from being a gladiator to becoming a leader of a rebellion. He and his fellow slaves manage to escape and form an army that successfully challenges Roman authority. Alongside his friend and gladiator-turned-ally Ilithyia (played by Viva Bianca), Spartacus seeks revenge against those who wronged him and the Roman Republic.
