The film tells the story of an ordinary dog named Dylan (voiced by Channing Tatum), who becomes an extraordinary hero after gaining superpowers from a strange meteorite. After being adopted by a young girl named Molly (voiced by Tatum's then-girlfriend, actress Katie Holmes' lookalike, but actually voiced by) and her uncle, an aristocratic and well-meaning man named McGowan (voiced by Peter Scolari), Dylan becomes a hero for hire in the city, using his newfound powers to protect the innocent and fight crime.
